Legendary coach Walter Smith died this morning (Tuesday) at the age of 73 after a long battle with the disease.
Smith led the Rangers to seven consecutive championships from 1991 to 1997 and in total won with the Blues 10 championships, 5 trophies, 6 league trophies and even qualified for the UEFA Cup final against Zenit St Petersburg but lost to the Russians in the final.
Smith also coached English Everton between 1998 and 2002 and in addition the Scottish national team between 2004 and 2007 when he retired from coaching in 2011.

"It's impossible to grasp what Walter was for each of us Rangers," Douglas Park, the club's president today honored in an official statement issued by the team on social media, "His character and leadership were above all and we will always remember him. We send our condolences to the family."
